Born & bred in Newcastle, Jade knew from the start that she wanted a career that would help others. Originally she had planned to train as a dentist & she started her working life as a dental nurse with this vision in mind.
Through working closely with her patients & hearing their stories, Jade noticed that she had a real aptitude for giving emotional support & recalls that they would often comment on how calming & caring she was.
It was this realisation, alongside her own positive & transformative experiences of therapy, that inspired Jade to train as a psychotherapist.
Knowing first hand how therapy can free us from old wounds & toxic relationship patterns, Jade wanted to help others to break free & to get the most out of their lives.
After six years in dentistry, in 2014 Jade took the leap & enrolled on an honours degree in Person Centred Counselling.
During this initial training Jade was introduced to transactional analysis & very soon she was hooked on this way of working with & making sense of our difficulties.
She decided that she would specialise in this approach & soon after graduation started a four year post graduate diploma in Transactional Analysis at the Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy.
Jade is on course to graduate in 2020, as a TA psychotherapist.
Since starting her counselling journey, Jade has accrued a wide range of clinical experience offering time limited therapy at the mental health charity, Mind.
Over the last three years, she has supported clients who were affected by many different issues such as relationship difficulties, anxiety disorders, OCD, depression & suicidal ideations.
She is currently working towards accreditation with the UKCP.
Jade is a qualified counsellor who is registered with the UKCP. She is trained in transactional analysis (TA), person centred therapy & (ACT) acceptance & commitment therapy.
Her core model however is TA & she uses this theoretical structure to help her clients to make sense of themselves & their relationship patterns; & integrates practical tools to support growth & change.
Jade is a warm & gentle person, who cares deeply about others. She will make helping you to find your way forward her priority.
With a focus on promoting self awareness & acceptance, & supporting you to learn how to be with your feelings, Jade will guide you towards greater resilience & well being.
“Often in life we can face challenges & become stuck emotionally or find ourselves trapped in endless cycles of unhelpful repetition.
I will help you to gain an understanding of the unconscious beliefs & patterns that are contributing to your difficulties.
We can then begin to challenge these together. I’ll be with you every step of the way, supporting you to address any repressed emotions that are holding you back from being the best that you can be.
The main thing is to start somewhere & build on that. During our sessions we can explore whatever you feel you need to. The time is yours.
Within our therapeutic relationship, you will feel connected to, listened to, heard & cared for.
In time, together we will help you to rise above the storms of life & find your sunshine again.”
Jade & the rest of the team look forward to welcoming you to The Clearing.
